Week 5

Here are a few pictures and videos from Week 5 of life! It's been a great week so far!

Sydney loves "talking" to her toys on her play mat.

She fell asleep like this after a diaper change.

She flashes "gang symbols" while sleeping!

Pictures from yesterday: her one month pose with her Brewers bear! She sure is long! I can't wait to see how much she's grown at her 2 month appointment at the end of the month. She already grew half an inch by her two week appointment. Everyone keeps asking how much she weighs now-I just know she was 8 pounds at her two week appointment and is definitely a good eater!

We also went to a friend's Music Therapy group called Sprouting Melodies at a local baby store. Sydney went with her friend Ben, who is a little older (she likes the older men). She really enjoyed the music-I'll try and get a video of it next week. She was turned toward the guitar the whole time!

Birth Story

Mom went in for a non-stress test on the morning of Thursday, May 29 and my heartbeat dropped a few times during the test so the doc sent her to the hospital for a biophysical ultrasound. Even though we passed the test, the doc wanted to induce mommy since she was due Monday, May 26, so she was admitted. She called everyone she needed to call and was brought into a labor and delivery room. At 2:30, the induction process started. Early Friday morning, mom got an epidural because her contractions were getting stronger and the doc came in to break her water. She stayed on Petocin until about 5:30 Friday evening. Her doc came in and, although she was having contractions, she was only dilated 4 cm and was not really progressing. So, the doc gave mom a choice-wait it out or go for a c-section. Mom and dad opted for the c-section so they could meet me! They were wheeled into the operating room at 6 pm and I was born at 6:20pm Friday, May 30. I weighed 7lbs 6oz and was 21.25 inches long (I have long legs!). Grandma and Grandpa Borgie visited us in the hospital and helped when we discharged on Sunday, June 1.
